Poet Robert is inspired by an ancient abbey
A tribute to that au natural poet, Robert Graham, who never seems to get the considerable credit his skill deserves, nor perhaps the audience.
I like this latest on his website, Healing Gardens dot click, which follows a visit to the ancient Italian monastry, St Wandrille.
Robert tells us that he felt drawn to the abbey after reading Patrick Leigh Fermor's book 'A Time to Keep Silence'.
The poem reveals the deep impression the ancient building, built in the 600s, had on him.
