Roberto's free-wheeling magic for cyclists

Just when your Sailing to Purgatory scribe suffered badly from a fall from his bike, all around appear encouragements to cycle. Bike for the environment, bike to ease the traffic, get on your bike to get fit.
It's a week since I got off my bike unexpectedly and in a mighty hurry, and consequentially learned about the magic of London ambulances and discovered how very busy hospitals like St George's, in the heart of the metropolis, offer exceptional care.
Then what arrived for coding and uploading to Roberto's website, Healing Gardens dot click, but some witty and clever rhyming about cycling ...

A moan through the bruising

Oh, no, I moaned through the bruising.
However, just a line or two more and my groans were gone as I saw that Roberto's invention certainly earned its place on the net, with or without any reference to my recent biking drama. And the verse is so good, I'd like to share it with you here. I hope you'll enjoy it ..

Route 18 Country Rap

two wheels, three wheels, four
two wheels,
trainer, boot or paw
grab a day's staycation
from your overworking station
- cycle, walk or scooter
be a Route 18 commuter
three miles from Westgate walls
a sharing path for alls
a long, green corridor
in Ashford to explore
Downs cycling and roaming
raises serotonin
sitting in your saddle
lets your endorphins travel
it will not break the bank
no need to fill a tank
with new designer shades
wander through the glades
unplug your ears phoned long
upload the forest songs
hear the birds go twitter
look out for lonely litter
form 'L's with friendly trees
rub mud upon both knees
just listen to the leaves
applaud you in the breeze
loved before your birth
connect to mother earth
no need to time or score
slow travellers see more
all are equal here
no need to feel the fear
every shape is sound
its normal to be round
now health and safety advice – but we will only say this twice -
ring canterbury bells
sound your ashford honkers
wear top hats on autumn trips
so you're not concussed by conkers.
