WELCOME TO UN-UNITED GROANLAND


Admired poet Robert Graham hailed me with,'Welcome back to groan land!' when I returned the other day. I wondered what that meant. He said, 'An English friend married to an American said that each time he returns to UK he never gets to count to ten before he hears someone moaning.'
Robert said, 'I've tried it and he is absolutely right.' It would be hard to challenge that, and especially back when the outcome of the EU poll was
announced. Of course, in the run-up to the vote, we were subjected to astonishing claims by two prominent clowns.
Obviously many in our world took the words of those, er, politicians for honesty.
 However, many believe that it's the changing look of people we see on the streets and while shopping that really inspired the bias.

BIG CHANGE

 Certainly, the physical signs of ethnicity out there in public show a very big change. For a humane society like ours, how could it be otherwise?
Towns and cities to the east are destroyed by despots and their armies. People doing well in life, with good jobs and prospects, suddenly have their homes and life destroyed by crazies in charge, or hoping to be.
 A humane society can hardly turn its back on the suffering. Refugees from Hell are getting a chance for a new life in Britain.
It seems that many voting in the EU poll people didn't know that someone from Syria, for instance, actually looks rather different from a citizen of Rome or Paris or Amsterdam.
England has undergone these changes many times. I remember only too well how London suddenly seemed to gain a huge community from the Caribbean. Then it seemed that Polish folk almost outnumbered Brits. …
